South-facing, on the slope above the municipal center of Oppeid, lies the old trading post Breidablikk. In 1978, it became Hamarøy Bygdetun (local heritage museum) and is now part of the Nordland Museum. Since 1845, it has been an important meeting place in the community, initially as a farmer's trading post and later as a heritage museum.
