Description

The main building was constructed in 1860 as a long and narrow Nordland house. In 1888, it was expanded and remodeled into its current socalled Swiss style. The building is situated with its long side along the slope, resulting in a high natural stone foundation on the lower gable end. The walls are made of log construction, clad externally with horizontal wooden boarding, while the steep roof with generous overhangs is covered with slate tiles. The building has one and a half stories: a main floor and an attic. The main facade is symmetrical around the entrance veranda with a dormer above, all finely decorated with Swiss style details. The tall cross-post windows feature elaborate and period-appropriate framing.
Inside, two living rooms have been restored to their 1880s appearance, while one room is furnished with equipment and furniture from the 1920s.
