Description

Prinsens gate 116
Nordlandsmuseet, the headquarter of a foundation consisting of twenty local museums, is situated in the park area next to Bodø Cathedral. The one storey ochre building has a central two storey avant corp with features emphasizing the triangular top of the gable. The building's shape, elevation structure and the arched windows carry the hallmarks of Nordic classicism with renaissance influence. This was the chosen style for many museum buildings built during the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
