Description

Skibotndalen
Skibotn Field Station is situated in the gently undulating pine forests of the valley Skibotndalen owned by Statskog (the Norwegian state-owned land and forest enterprise). It consists of four buildings gathered around an open courtyard. These are lodgings in three separate cabins and a main building for education, socializing and catering, all built in a uniform architectural language. The main building's educational wing has a pitched roof and faces the courtyard and the lodgings, while its other functions, which are gathered under a pitched roof, face both the courtyard and the valley enjoying views towards the mountains in the southwest. The latter part is also what first comes to view when approaching the field station.
