Dolstad kirke (Dolstad Church)
Description
Mosjøen
The Dolstad Church is surrounded by a flat, forest clad landscape - where the river meets the fjord - by Mosjøen. Ever since the old days this has been a church site serving the entire region Vefsn-dalføret. In the beginning of the 18th century the old church was in such poor condition, it was decided a new church would be erected. Niels Pedersen Bech from Trondheim was commissioned in 1732 to build a new church. In 1734 the majority of the construction was completed and the church was opened, but it was not consecrated until a year after the interior was finished.
