"Stamsund kirke" (3 of 5)
Description
The church has a magnificent location on one of the many knolls that surround this fishing village. The surrounding terrain is quite undulating. The church was situated on the crest of a knoll. To a certain extent, the nearby terrain was cultivated in order to provide a fairly level area in front of the main façade. The terrain is adapted by means of bulkheads and stairs all executed in the same material as the church itself, concrete. On the backside of the church, where the urn burial garden is located, lies a less-cultivated natural terrain.
