Description

The last part of the 19th century saw the introduction of the concept of keeping livestock and fodder under the same roof. At Bratrein they at first kept the animals in one building and the hay in two separate barns. However, in 1890 they reorganized the buildings. They built a cellar to drop the manure into, they kept the livestock on the ground floor and an external ramp and bridge lead up to the new hayloft on the first floor. The barn was later, in 1912, extended further lengthwise. Its footprint is now 112m2 and length 16m.
