"Hydro-byen i Glomfjord" (3 of 5)
Description
The town centre, with buildings that are situated around a large open yard or lawn, was established throughout the 1950s. The first construction phase of the Glomfjord Inn and restaurant was completed in 1954, as well as the post office. The buildings in the town centre in Glomfjord represent simple and well-designed 1950s style architecture. There are a number of characteristic elements, such as the divided building mass, alternation between low-rising and tall building sections, the construction, slate covered saddle roofs and plastered walls made of brick/concrete.
