Description

During the Second World War Villa Minde no. 87, was used as lodgings for German officers. They added a two-storey extension to the south to house their drivers and also built a rather large garage for their cars. The latter has been demolished, though the concrete foundations still remain and the day nursery has given it a new lease of life as an ice rink in winter and a cycle track in summer.

After the war, no. 87 was converted into flats for appeal court judges that later became flats for councils. The day nursery took over the premises in 1981.
