"Dramsveien 83 og 87" (4 of 5)
Description
The second Villa Minde, no.83, was built in 1922 and represents a mixture of Swiss chalet style and jugend style. The core of the house's footprint is square, but it has a number of extensions and a variety of roof shapes and three gable walls. The east-facing gable has a two-storey bay window with views over the sound Tromsøsundet. The outside walls have red tongued and grooved vertical cladding with white detailing and white sills indicating the position of the intermediate floor. The original window design were typical of the jugend style with upper casements having glazing bars crossing as in a St. Andrew's cross.
