Description

In 1958 the Tromsø Housing Association arranged an architecture competition to design these housing units. The Tromsø architect Gunnar Bøgeberg Haugen won the competition. When the structures were built, the winning design plans had to be slightly altered. The housing units were prefabricated as kit houses at Lyngen Fabrikker.

Today this row of houses is still in good condition and no additions have been built. Only a few minor changes have been made, a couple flights of steps have been converted from concrete into wood and certain entrance doors have been replaced with new standardised doors. The authenticity of this complex is upheld due to the preservation of the original details.
