Kaldslett gård (Kaldslett Farm)
Description
The well-kept buildings at Kaldslett Farm which are the house, barn and boathouse, are situated in an open landscape and in spite of being surrounded by new residential developments it has retained enough surrounding land to be easily seen as a farm and a part of the old cultural landscape. The farm is visible both from the sea and the main road.
Kaldslett Farm has stayed in the same family since the mid 19th century. The previous occupier did during his time maintain the buildings very well. One of his last undertakings was to replace rotten logs in the barn and repair its turf roof. All the buildings have wooden constructions, log or timber frame, and traditional turf roofs.
