Skattefogdgården (The Former Governmental Tax Collectors Residence)
Description
Biskop Kroghs gate 15
Skattefogdgården is a large white two-storey wooden building with a hipped slate roof. The external walls have high relief vertical board on board cladding. The elevation facing Rensåsgata has a regular composition with six equally spaced cross-windows on each floor. This window type was commonly used in 19th century empire-style larger buildings. The wall also has regularly spaced lesenes (pilasters without base and capital), which serve both esthetic and structural purposes.
