Fridthjov Anderssens vei 7
Description
Fridthjov Anderssens vei 7
The simple yet handsome house in Fridthjov Adressens vei 7 in Bodø was built as late as in 1924. It has two full storeys and a low pitch slate roof. The external walls have board on board vertical cladding and the corners, the cornice and the windows are accentuated. The ground floor windows are the crosswindows as used on larger houses during the empire-style era. The architect Harald Sund who designed the house, was keen to promote local building traditions and wooden architecture. He often used elements from the 19th century empire-style as did many of his Norwegian colleagues at the time. Fridthjov Anderssens vei 7 is a typical example of a wooden house in the style of Nordic Classicism as designed by Norwegian architects during the 1920s.
