Lundenes gård (Grytøy bygdetun, Lundenes Farm, Grytøy Heritage Museum)
Description
9403 Lundenes
Lundenes Farm is located at the southernmost part of Grytøya. The former main building is approximately fifty meters long and is composed of two sections or houses, without an internal passage. The long, narrow, two-story building is constructed of log timber with cross-notch joints. Externally, it is clad with vertical red-painted wooden boarding, and the gable roof is covered with birch bark and turf. The main entrances face south towards the sea, while the kitchen entrances, with attached porches, face north. The white-painted, small-paned windows are evenly spaced along the walls. Symmetry was an ideal in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The main building was protected under the Cultural Heritage Act in 1942 and remains largely as it was when it was constructed.
