Description
At the top of the main street in the center of the town, Lenin overlooks the community, with a view of the large Nordenskiöld Glacier. Around the statue grows grass imported from Siberia, the only grass lawn on Svalbard. Behind the Lenin statue are the sports hall, cultural center, and swimming pool, while in the opposite direction lie the school and day care for children.
