Description
A square has been created at the crossing of the streets Jernbanegata and Fridtjof Nansens gate. Here the pedestrian network also connects to the local museum and the garden surrounding the old Meyergården Hotell.
The concept of pedestrianization was first introduced in Mo i Rana's town regeneration plan. The planning work commenced in 1983 under the leadership of the landscape architect Ole Petter Rundhaug who was an employee of the town council, and by 1984 they had worked out: the overall structure

laid down criteria for new buildings and last but not least established a relationship with the landowners. The town council approved the plan in 1984.
