The lift shaft and outbuildings (by the entrance to the mine) were situated like a fortress above the other buildings. Today this concrete structure with lift wheels marks the entrance to the mine. It is the last remaining piece of technical equipment from the mining operations. All other machinery and structures associated with the mine have been removed. Large waste rock dumps from the mining operations lie between the lift shaft and the buildings.
