Description

The rectangular nave has a gallery over the western entrance and a choir that is narrower than the nave. In the corners between the nave and the choir there are sacristies – a typical feature of neo-Gothic churches. In neo-Gothic style an emphasis on the constructive elements was also common. This is particularly evident in the roof of Saltdal Church. It is assumed that this was ‘forgotten’ when the church was insulated and new interior boarding was installed in 1978. The church received new benches for its hundredth anniversary in 1964.
