"Saltdal kirke" (4 of 7)
Description
Inside there are several elements that distinguish the church from a typical neo-Gothic church. Firstly, there is the flat ceiling, supported by visible beams in both the nave and the choir – a gabled roof was most common. Secondly, the wall between the nave and the choir is shaped like a cross crank, finished off with a rounded upper arch – usually, this opening was the full width of the choir, finished off with a pointed arch at the top.
