"Byparken i Mosjøen" (3 of 7)
Description
A new plan for the southeast corner of the park was drawn up in 1948 by garden designer Elise Sørsdal, and this part of the park is often referred to as the "1948 park". The Second World War was recently over and the design was based on social democrat values with emphasis on sport, games and play as well as beauty. The most dominant element in this part is therefore the playing field and on two sides it has wide paths set at right angles with large slate paving slabs. The flowerbeds contain various shrubs and bedding plants, and the trees are placed at the perimeter of the park. The design of the green wooden benches is a reconstruction of the benches the park had during the 1960s.
