"Fiskarfagskolen i Honningsvåg" (4 of 5)
Description
New building development started in the 1980s - a reconstruction process that was completed in 1988. The architect in charge was the architecture firm Borgen &
Bing- Lorentzen (Vadsø branch) and the client was the Finnmark County Municipality. Expansion of the complex entailed nearly a doubling of the area, from roughly 2,500 square metres to roughly 4,900 square metres. New units were added to the existing complex on three sides. Firstly, a roof was added to the inner courtyard (atrium) in the main building, which became the library with a skylight. Secondly, the L-shaped residence hall was expanded on both ends and converted into offices and small classrooms. The third undertaking was a large terminating annex on two sides of the previous workshop wing, with new premises for the craft- and industrial departments.
