Description

This is the site plan of the Lurøy garden, with a symmetrically designed Renaissance section from the 18th century on the right and the landscape garden from the 19th century on the left. The old main building, which burned in 1886, is dotted in on the plan. The six quarters of the Renaissance garden were symmetrically situated around the axis, which went from the old main building to the garden pavilion at the lower part of the garden. It has been suggested that the garden at Dønnesgodset, which Christian Gartner may have constructed for the owner in the last half of the 17th century, served as a model for the oldest section of the Lurøy garden. This site plan was taken from "Hagen i nord".
