The asymmetric design of the Glomfjord Power Station associates with the nationally inspired direction in architecture that occurred at the time it was built. With this type of angle composition, the building accommodated for the terrain and the mountain formations in the area. Architect Johan Olaf Nordhagen inspected the area of Glomfjord in 1917 or 1918, in connection with the preparation of the drawings for the power station.
