"Glomfjord kraftstasjon" (5 of 6)
Description
The distribution station is situated at the lowest point in Glomen. This structure was vital in that it transferred the electrical power from the power plan at Fykan to the industry in Haugvik. It was designed by architect Carl Thune-Larsen in 1917. He worked for Glomfjord Aktieselskap. With its smoothly plastered façades and stepped gables, it represents a type of architecture that derived its models from the Middle Age period in Germany and the 19th century.
