The glass façades bestow the building with a transparent quality. Lying like a slab above the building, the large roof emphasises the horizontal and monumental character. From inside of the swimming pool, which is located towards the east and the mountains, one experiences a nearness with the exterior surroundings through the large planes of glass. This is a theme which Hovig employed in several buildings - such as the Alfheim Swimming Pool in Tromsø.
