Description

Mellomveien 130 is a compact house consisting of two parts. The two storey with attic part measures 7.35 x 6.15 m (on the outside) and the one storey extension measures 4.25 x 6.15 m. The external walls are painted ochre with blue window frames and surrounds. To the east the house has two large windows on the ground floor and a door leading to the garden. The south facing bay window was originally intended as a small greenhouse. The extension to the north contains storage rooms for bicycles, fuel and food as well as a WC, a utility room and stairs to the second floor. The recessed main entrance is on the east side of the extension. The open plan ground floor has a central column carrying a longitudinal beam. The open space contains a kitchen zone, a living area and a workspace. The kitchen is L-shaped with room for the kitchen table under the stairs to the first floor.

On the second floor there are three east facing bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate WC as well as a large west facing living/play area.

Most of the larger windows are asymmetrical with a narrow casement that opens for ventilation.
