Description

Sjøgata 10 and 12 (street addresses) were constructed in the 1830s as merchant residences, no. 12 was for Jørgen Chr. Dreyer. Both buildings are two-storied with symmetric façades, centrally located arches and centrally located corridors. No. 10 has horizontal panelling and cross-post window. These elements along with the intricately designed portal have characteristic features from the Empire style. In the beginning of the 20th century, No. 12 underwent much reconstruction on the façade, but the elegant Empire portal is from the original structure.
