Description

The buildings at Løp Gård were in 1980 donated to the local district council, by the descendants of its last residents. A major renovation process took place between 1987 and 1992 under the careful guidance of a group professionals appointed by the district council. The team included a museum educational officer, the county conservation officer, an architect and skilled trades people. The main mandate for the renovation was to bring the house back to what it would have looked like around 1860. However, three main rooms (Storstua, Storstukammerset and Salen) kept their original 18th century baroque style. The eastern wing, as shown here, is now used to provide meeting rooms for the local community and others.
