Description

Løp Gård is a very old farmstead and there are archeological findings from the ironage, viking era and the Middle Ages. From 1651 to 1828 Løp Gård belonged to the "fogd" who was the local top representative of the authorities with responsibilities for policing, prosecution and tax collection. From 1828 to 1836 another representative for the authorities with responsibility to the court resided here. The farm's buildings steadily changed over the centuries, but the biggest change took place in 1863 when the ownership of the land was restructured and split between three owners. Two of these moved their buildings away from the old cluster of farm buildings.
