Description
The church was located close to a spring, which was thought to have healing properties. Council and court gatherings were held on the nearby Tinghjåen / Kirkehaugen. Bodin Church was the main church for the parish of Bodø until 1770. The population grew rapidly during the 18th century and the south semitransept was added.
