Description

The buildings are grouped around three yards: the seaside yard, the garden yard and the outbuilding yard - with the main building serving as a division between the seaside yard and the garden yard. Near the sea, which used to be the main route of transportation, stands the main building and the general store, both are painted white. During the 19th century white was an expensive paint colour. However, the buildings facing the garden yard are painted ochre-yellow, which was a much more affordable paint colour.
