Description

Here is a view of the Nyksund Harbour, as seen from the southwest. The rows of wharf warehouses are situated with the gables facing the sea and the north - on the south side of the harbour. The quay is three-storied in certain places, something which made it easy to unload both large and small boats. On the right in the photo, on the island Ungsmaløy, lie the concrete warehouses. These also house the filleting hall. Situated behind are the wooden warehouses, which also have vertical roof terminations facing the seafront, but here the shielding façades hide the actual form of the roof. This "false" façade conceals the low-pitched saddle roof.
