Strandgata 22
Description
Strandgata 22, Tromsø
Strandgata 22 is part of the old street that follows the original beach line in the southern part of Tromsø's city centre. Also facing the open square Strandtorget it is flanked by old two or three storey wooden buildings.
The facade has large glazed areas, which open the interiors to views of the square, the sound and the mountains on the mainland. The remaining parts of the east wall have sharply cut minimalist vertical oiled wooden cladding. Likewise, the metal profiles of the windows are very slim. The dominant roof introduces a different and interesting geometry into the neighbourhood and has standing seams zinc roofing.
