Ormen lange
Description
Urtegårdsgata 18-32
Ormen Lange (named after "the Long Serpent" which was a renowned and particularly long viking ship) is a terrace of eight wooden two-storey houses. The kitchens and living rooms are on the ground floor and the upstairs bedrooms nestle under the steep mansard slate roof with windows in the gabled and shed dormers that allow daylight into the rooms. Each house has its own long, 75m2, south and west facing back garden that is accessed both from the living room and a back lane. The houses' main entrances face the street and they are organised as pairs and open straight on to the pavement.
