Svenskebyen (the Swedish quarter) in Bodø consists of two blocks in the residential area Østbyen between the streets Prinsensgate, Hernesveien, Fredensborgveien and Harald Langhelles gate. All the houses were gifted by the Swedish Red Cross and erected in 1941 following the bombing of large parts of Bodø in 1940. The houses were, however, designed by two Norwegian architects Dagfinn Morseth and Gunnar Øvergaard Jørgen.
