Description
Breivikveien 6
The house at Breivikveien 28 consists of a series of linked volumes set along the side of a small knoll. Situated just west of the city centre the house is close to the sea and exposed to the prevailing winds. The low turf roofed building sits quietly in the landscape and creates sheltered outdoor spaces of which the vegetation bears witness.
The house is an example of how the reconstruction era architects moved away from pre-war modernism and turned towards an architecture based on homely and national traditions.
