Lundamo (Bardu bygdetun, Bardu Rural Museum)
Description
Salangsdalen, 9365 Bardu
Lundamo farm, today Bardu Rural Museum, is located on the plains by the main road E6, about ten kilometers south of the municipal center Setermoen in Inner Troms. In the open courtyard, there are many small and large tar-spread buildings with turf roofs. The main house, stable, cowshed, storehouse, and threshing barn have been standing here since the farm was established in the 1860s. The main house was built in 1868 by Morten Olsen Lundamo and Barbro Nilsdatter Livelten when Barbro received a part of her father's farm, Livelten. They named the farm Lundamo and built the necessary buildings within a few years.
The schoolhouse and Toftakerstua were moved to the courtyard in 1975 and 1976, after the municipality took over Lundamo in 1969 and established the rural museum. Today, the main house is the main building at Bardu Rural Museum, and there are also a barn/cowshed, stable, smithy, mill, threshing barn, schoolhouse, storehouse, and a well in the courtyard – and all buildings contain furnishings.
