Description

Forslandsvassdraget, 8890 Leirfjord
Upper Forsland Power Plant is located on the riverbank in a clearing at the edge of a spruce forest. The design of the building is strongly influenced by vertical elements, with slanted walls featuring varying openings that extend from the ground to the roof. The architect has stated that the surroundings served as inspiration for the design, reflecting the vertical and irregular characteristics of the surrounding spruce forest. The external battens reference the vertical tree trunks and hanging branches. The load-bearing structure and interior walls are made of concrete. The exterior wall is a combination of load-bearing concrete panels with wooden cladding and large vertical glass sections of varying widths.
