Description
Rotvik
At the water's edge in Rotvik by the Salangen fjord, there is a long row of boathouses built from wood, stone, and turf. Behind the row of boathouses, the terrain rises steeply to the rest of the village's buildings, which are situated on the terrace above. The special boathouse built of turf is located on the eastern end of the row. The structure consists of curved birch rafters, covered with birch boarding and topped with birch bark and turf.
