"Nedre rekke mot øst" (3 of 4)
Description
The individual houses follow several common housing types of the 1970s: two-story wooden houses with steep gable roofs and minimal eaves. The western gable features a balcony under the roof. The wooden paneling alternates between vertical and horizontal sections, adding variation to the facade, which otherwise has minimal traditional trim around windows and doors.
The houses are connected via extensions with flat roofs that are slightly recessed from the main volumes. At the end of each row of houses, there is a lower boiler house with the same roof pitch as the main houses. The variation in volumes, colors, and even window formats creates visual interest in the rows of houses. Depending on the angle of view, the houses appear either closed or open.
