Description

Melbu Manor consists of four buildings that stand on a small hill above the town. All were erected in the 19th century; the main building, servant's house, storehouse, and carriage house. All buildings are made of wood materials and have been restored to their appearance around 1900. The main building has also been restored internally. Museum Nord hosts exhibitions and meeting rooms in the main building, offices in the servant's house, and a workshop in the carriage house.
To the south and west of the main building lies a magnificent garden and park in the English style, with straight and curved gravel paths, lawns, a fountain, and plantings of trees, shrubs, and perennials on both sides of a natural stream.
