Description

Rabothytta, a trekking association cabin, is situated close to the glacier Okstindbreen within the Okstindan mountain range. It’s a location with stunning views and extreme weather conditions. Look in one direction and there is the coast of Helgeland or turn around and you are close to the glacier and mountain peaks; one of which is the Oksskolten, 1916m above sea level, the tallest in Northern Norway.

The cabin was designed to resonate with the dramatic shapes of the mountains. The angles of the grey walls and roofs echo the shapes and colours of the surroundings. Inside the close proximity to nature is emphasised in choice of materials, colours and positioning of windows. The communal and dining areas have large windows with views of the spectacular landscape.
