In the Cultural Heritage Year 1997, the ski cabin was chosen as the city's cultural heritage site. At that time, it was in poor condition and was taken over by the municipality. Restoration began in 2006 when the municipality funded water and sewage connections to the cabin. A private initiative restored the old cabin to good condition, rebuilt the second-floor room, and added toilets, a kitchen, and storage space at the back.
