"Gammelveien i Øksfjordbotn" (2 of 3)
Description
To keep the gradient of the road less steep than 1:20, the road gently wound its way along the terrain and thereby had less impact on the landscape. All construction materials originated from the route of the road itself or were quarried close by. The abutments were built using shaped and bonded blasted rock with backfill of local rock and gravel. The road surface was created by hand spreading and levelling load upon load of gravel.
