"Torsken kirke" (4 of 5)
Description
The altarpiece dates back to 1866. It has a three dimensional crucifix in front of a dark blue gently pointed central panel with a pointed pilaster on each side. The unique crucifix that is thought to have been made in Germany, dates back to the middle of the 15th century and has always belonged to Torsken Church. Its original position might have been on top of the screen that separated the nave from the chancel in medieval churches.
