Description

The census of 1875 also recorded agricultural information and it shows that at the time Rørvik Gård represented an average farm for the areas of Salten and Ofoten. They sowed 3/4 barrel (104 litres) of barley and planted 3 barrels (300 kg) of potatoes. Their livestock consisted of a horse, three cows, one pig and ten sheep and lambs. The seasonal fishing in Lofoten brought in cash and wood from their own forest provided building materials and fuel for cooking and heating.

The house has windows from different periods. The windows with the smallest window panes are the oldest and from the rococo period. These are now only on the first floor facing away from the sea. The rest of the windows are the younger empire-style windows with a mullion and two casements each with three windowpanes.
