"Herøy kirke" (3 of 5)
Description
Over the long rectangular church nave there is a barrel vault, built of wood during the nineteenth century and decorated with sky-painting. Inside, the two building stages of the nave are clearly visible as a vault in the wall area: in other words, the wall dating from the Middle Ages is of a greater thickness than the wall dating from the nineteenth century. The pulpit, a work dating from the eighteenth century, stands in the corner between the nave and the rather narrower choir.
