Description

The monolithic marble phallus on the top of Val`haugen, just behind the main house, is the largest known of its kind and it is of a category described holy white stones. This is the second largest burial mound in Northern Norway and the land belongs to Håjen where the building next to the barn houses an exhibition about fertility and fertility symbols from all over the world.

There are further burial mounds on Ytre Gleinsneset. Finds from these graves underpins a theory that Glein was an important centre of power in Helgeland during the iron ages. Footpaths and signs make access easy for visitors to Val`hagen and the other burial mounds.
