Description

The reception rooms have many examples of decorations made using stencils on wall panels and cornices. There are also painted wood grain on doors, architraves and other woodwork as well as marbling on some of the fireproof walls behind solid fuel burners. This picture shows a combination of these techniques supplemented by brushwork. These are examples of the skills of a good decorator during the second half of the 19th century.
